While going over the graphics I found it hard to tell if the quality of them will be the same come release because nothing is final and graphics can be modified and changed before the final release. It is hard to say how the graphics will look on your computer’s since you can change the detail level of the graphics for your computer based on your settings and video card. Some video cards use OpenGL and some use Direct3d so there will be different graphical results. I myself have the settings on custom with most of the options on high detail. As with any 3d game its going to look different from PC to PC.
The graphics in Renegade look clean cut and animated well in game. While I played renegade I noticed that the models are smooth 100ft away till the object is 5ft away. They have worked with out the graphics well so they are small in size yet show maximum quality. There are no noticeable glitches, bugs or signs of Westwood being sloppy and cutting corners. Looking at the well-detailed levels they have a detailed sky and floor in the buildings with a GDI or Nod logo.
Good graphics, good detail, did Westwood forget anything? No. Westwood even came up with a good compression method so you don’t have to wait a long time to change levels or to join a game. They added neat moving backgrounds for the menus in the game and neat graphics for the installation. The HUD that we pointed out ,during yesturday’s article ,shows they are simple yet detailed. Here are some screenshots with captions showing just some of the graphics and level of detail.
